Jak II, Jak 3, Jak X: Combat Racing hit PS4 Next Week

02 December 2017

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is going to be joined by its successors.

Naughty Dog classics Jak 2, 3, and Jak X Combat Racing are releasing on PS4 next week as part of the PS2 Classics collection. Well, Sony has finally responded, and we won't have to wait much longer. It is important to note that these are not remasters.

The bundle is available from next week and will support trophies along with the usual 1080p up-render job - along with Remote Play, Shareplay, and Activity Feeds.

So now is a ideal time for fans that played the originals, and for new gamers who never touched a Jak and Daxter game to explore one (or three) of Naughty Dog's older titles. The series' emphasis on narrative and developing it's characters would serve as a foundation for the studio's award-winning work on PS3 and PS4. It put them on the path that led to the creation of future blockbuster franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us- and to think it all started with giving Jak his own voice.

Looks like that has changed, as Truant Pixel will soon be releasing the Legacy Dashboard Dynamic Theme, created with direct input from Sony Interactive Entertainment America and Naughty Dog. It's a nice piece of nostalgia.

That will follow the PS4 debut of the first game, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, by three and a half months - that PS2 Classic launched August 22 alongside Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, for which it was a pre-order bonus. There were four Naughty Dog-developed Jak and Daxter games as well, with three story-driven titles and, similarly to Crash Bandicoot, a racing spinoff.
