Fox pushes back X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants

27 March 2018

The story of an unhinged Jean Grey awakening the Phoenix Force within her and unleashing her devastating powers unto the world had already been tackled in X-Men: The Last Stand, though it had been dragged through the mud by critics and fans.

I mean, with Dark Phoenix flying to February 2019, that's a major benefit for Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, since Bohemian Rhapsody will only open to a fraction of what Dark Phoenix does.

20th Century Fox is shuffling around several of its films, including its next two "X-Men"-related installments".

As each month passes, it seems that X-Men: New Mutants gets further away.

"The release date for the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which has been going through some speed bumps with its directors, has been pushed up from December 25 to November 2"The adaptation of Don Winslow's The Force was originally scheduled for March 1, 2019, but Fox has made a decision to delay the release to a yet-to-be-determined date". A direct follow up to 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse, Phoenix is helmed by franchise producer and first-time director Simon Kinberg. "The New Mutants" was subsequen back once to February 22, 2019, and has now been moved back again to August 2, 2o19. The cast for that includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, and Alice Braga.

At that point, X-Men: Dark Phoenix was scheduled for release on November 2nd, 2018, which didn't change at that point. That film will be released March 1, 2019, pushing out police thriller The Force.

"X-Men: Dark Phoenix" has been pushed back from November 2, 2018 to February 14, 2019. "So, hopefully, all of these reshoots and adding of the new character that will give the fans an altogether satisfactory, wonderful product".
