Mother Arrested After 2-Year-Old Tests Positive For Meth

16 April 2018

A Florida mother is facing charges for letting her daughter smoke pot and meth after the 2-year-old child was tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, investigators said.

She also was charged with lewd and lascivious battery and transmission of harmful material to a minor in connection with a separate case.

On January 12, 2018, detectives at the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office started a child abuse investigation after it was alleged that Kaitlyn Ecker, 20, had involved a two-year old child in methamphetamine and marijuana use inside her home.

She was jailed under a $30,000 bond and told police she had a history of drug use including heroin and opioid pills, according to KTVQ. Moreover, she admitted to consuming pot the night before her interrogation and smoking meth months before her arrest. Police even found a plastic bag containing marijuana residue located within a basket containing children's toys.

Investigators arrested Autumn Sienna Heinz, 30, Tuesday on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child, drug possession and criminal mischief, reported The Missoulian.

Authorities also executed a search warrant for a blood and hair sample from Ecker and the two-year-old child. However, the toxicology report ordered by the court revealed that the 2-year-old toddler tested positive for both meth and marijuana.

Police said the 2-year-old girl tested positive for "chronic" drug use. Additionally, Ecker also denied owning the pipes.

Every room in the YMCA was tested for meth fumes, and each one tested positive including the infant room.

The woman was identified as 25-year-old Alaina Marie Limpert from Tempe, Arizona, who allegedly laced the dish with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, a chemical found in marijuana) butter.

Heinz told police she had refitted the cabinet as a place to "get away" during breaks but asked for an attorney when questioned about drugs, reported KULR.

"During that time neither parent took the child to immediate emergency care". Reports by Yahoo! and the Miami Herald were used to create this article.

As soon as the incident came to light, Limpert was arrested and booked on one count of child abuse, cultivation of marijuana and its possession, among other charges. Police said the woman, 24-year-old Miranda Payne, admitted to smoking drugs around the 1-year-old.
