Philadelphia Eagles trade Michael Bennett to Patriots

09 March 2019

Although he is coming off of a down season statistically, where he finished just 4.0 sacks, Graham finished with 9.5 sacks in 2017 and was one of the best defensive ends in all of football.

Martellus, who has also played for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Chicago Bears in his career, has amassed 4,573 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns on 433 receptions. The closest they came to joining forces came last offseason when the Patriots almost pulled off a trade for Michael, but that fell through and the defensive end was eventually traded to the Eagles.

If the Bennetts play together next season, they would be another set of brothers on the Patriots' roster. After being released by New England, the veteran tight end made a decision to retire in March 2018. Jason and Devin McCourty were part of New England's Super Bowl-winning team this season, though Jason is set to be an unrestricted free agent.

Bennett isn't a long-term answer for the Patriots. Flowers led the Patriots with 45 pressures.

"I don't know what's happening with the Eagles". Philadelphia re-signed Brandon Graham to a three-year deal last week.

Bennett has two years left on his contract. "Of course you always want to be with the team that you play with".

The 33-year-old Bennett, the older brother of ex-Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett, is mostly known for his five-year run with the Seattle Seahawks, where he totaled 39 sacks in 75 games, won a Super Bowl, and was a three-time Pro Bowler.

The next court date is slated for March 27, according to court records.

Bennett has been a consistent force as a pass rusher throughout his time in the league.
