Highlights from The Mandalorian at Star Wars Celebration

14 April 2019

The Rebel's blockade runner, known as the Tantive IV to any half-decent fan, wasn't on screen for very long, but it was still our first glimpse at the great many ships Star Wars has to offer. Every single Star Wars movie is coming to Disney Plus and when the streaming platform premieres on November 12, 2019, fans are going to find the force is strong.

At Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, an attendee takes a selfie with two Stormtroopers in front of the Guinness World Record-breaking display of Stormtrooper minifigures, which stand in a formation representing a Stormtrooper's helmet.

Disney also announced the new original series The Mandalorian will be created for the channel. Recently, the franchise has alternated years between advancing the main story (with stars Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren and a selection of actors from the 1977-1983 franchise films) and doing side stories, such as a prequel on Han Solo's life called "Solo: A Star Wars Story". "With Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Star Wars: Episode IX director JJ Abrams appearing on stage, you can count on plenty of surprises and special guests to keep your imagination buzzing for the rest of Celebration!" The sets were introduced at the American International Toy Fair in New York City that year and remain one of the most popular lines of Lego toys today. Are you looking forward to The Mandalorian? The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte.

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe", he stated on Instagram. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

In addition to executive producing The Mandalorian, Favreau is also a writer, and the series showrunner is Karen Gilchrist, who executive produced The Jungle Book with him. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order.

Available directly from LEGO Stores & shop.LEGO.com starting May 3rd, 2019.
